Summer Solstice Celebration
A festival of religious origin celebrated throughout Spain and, in the case of Ibiza, especially in Sant Joan de Labritja.Β
Β
Following the tradition, the new bonfires, known as nos foguerons, are lit and jumped over to chase away and leave any bad experiences behind. The night is also celebrated with music, lots of wine, and fritters. It is a night full of tradition and fun to spend with family and friends, where everyone agrees for one night to celebrate the arrival of summer.
In the culinary aspect, do not miss out tasting the Macarrons de Sant Joan, a typical Ibizan sweet of this date.
The celebration in Ibiza begins on the longest day of the year, June 21, and ends on June 24, though the official night of Sant Joan is on the 23th.Β
